High Manganese Steel Castings

The amount of high manganese steel is the most, commonly used to make excavator shovel teeth, cone crusher rolling wall and crushing wall, jaw crusher fork board, ball mill lining plate, railway switch, board hammer, hammer head, etc. The cast tissue of high manganese steel is usually composed of austenite, carbide and pearlite, and sometimes contains a small amount of phosphorus co-crystals. The number of carbide is large, often appear in the grain boundary network. Therefore, the high manganese steel of the cast tissue is very brittle and cannot be used, and it needs solid solution treatment. The commonly used heat treatment method is solution treatment, where the steel is heated to 1050~1100℃, insulation to eliminate the cast tissue, get single-phase austenitic tissue, then water quenching, so that the tissue is maintained to room temperature. After heat treatment, the strength, plasticity and toughness of steel are greatly improved, so this heat treatment method is also often called water toughness treatment. After heat treatment, the mechanical properties are: σ b615~1275MPa σs340~470MPa ζ15%~85% ψ 15% ~ 45% aKl 96 ~ 294 J / cm2 HBl80~225 low impact load, it can reach HB 300 ~ 400, and high impact load can reach HB 500 ~ 800. Depending on the impact load, the depth of the surface hardening layer can reach 10~20mm. High hardness hardening layer can resist impact abrasive wear. Under the condition of strong impact abrasive wear, high manganese steel has excellent abrasion resistance, so it is often used in mining, building materials, thermal power and other machinery and equipment to make wear-resistant parts. Under the condition of low impact, high manganese steel cannot play the material characteristics because the hardening effect is not obvious. The grade of high manganese steel in China and its application scope are: ZGMn13-1 (C 1.10%~1.50%) for low impact parts, ZGMn13-2 (C1.00%~1.40%) for ordinary parts, ZGMn13-3 (C0.90%~1.30%) for complex parts, and ZGMn13-4 (C0.90%~1.20%) for high impact parts. The manganese content of the above four kinds of grade steel is 11.0%~14.0%. During the cold deformation of impact load, the steel is strengthened by the large increase of dislocation density, dislocation delivery, dislocation plug deposition, and the interaction of dislocation and solute atoms. This is an important reason for processing hardening. Another important reason is that the layer error energy of high manganese austenite is low, and it is prone to stacking layer error during deformation, thus creating conditions for the formation of ε martensite and the production of deformation twin. High density dislocation, dislocation deposition and entanglement can often be seen in the deformation hardening layer of conventional high manganese steel. The appearance of martensite and deformed twin makes the steel difficult to deform, especially because the latter is more important. The above factors make the hardening layer of high manganese steel strengthened to a high degree, and the hardness is greatly improved. High manganese steel is easy to harden, so it is difficult to process, the vast majority of castings, a very small amount of forging method processing. The casting performance of high-manganese steel is better. The melting point of steel is low (about 1400℃), the temperature interval of liquid and solid line of steel is small (about 50℃), the thermal conductivity of steel is low, so the molten fluidity is good, easy to pour molding. The line expansion coefficient of high manganese steel is pure.
