What Types Of Heat-resistant Steel Are There?

Jul 09, 2023|

Heat-resistant steel can be divided into two types according to its performance: anti-oxidation steel and heat-strength steel. Oxidation-resistant steel is also referred to as non-skinned steel. Heat-resistant steel can be divided into austenitic heat-resistant steel, martensitic heat-resistant steel, ferritic heat-resistant steel and pearlitic heat-resistant steel according to its normalizing structure.
1. Heat-resistant steel and stainless acid-resistant steel overlap each other in the scope of use. Some stainless steels have the characteristics of heat-resistant steel, and can be used as both stainless acid-resistant steel and heat-resistant steel.
2. Heat-resistant steel is an alloy steel with high strength and good chemical stability at high temperature. It includes two types of anti-oxidation steel (or high-temperature non-skinning steel) and heat-strength steel. Oxidation-resistant steel generally requires better chemical stability, but bears lower loads. Heat-strength steel requires higher high-temperature strength and corresponding oxidation resistance.
3. Heat-resistant steel is often used in the manufacture of boilers, steam turbines, power machinery, industrial furnaces, and parts that work at high temperatures in industrial sectors such as aviation and petrochemicals. In addition to high temperature strength and high temperature oxidation corrosion resistance, these parts also require sufficient toughness, good machinability and weldability, and certain structural stability according to different uses. In addition, some new designs of low-chromium-nickel oxidation-resistant steels have been developed.
