How Does Heat-resistant Steel Have High Temperature Oxidation Resistance?

Jul 18, 2023|

The ability of steel to resist oxidation and corrosion in high temperature oxygen-containing medium is called the oxidation resistance of steel.
The oxidation resistance of steel mainly depends on the content of Cr, Al, Si and other elements in the steel. The high temperature oxidation resistance of steel is expressed by oxidation rate.
Heat-resistant steel can be divided into two types according to its performance: anti-oxidation steel and heat-strength steel. Oxidation-resistant steel is also referred to as non-skinned steel. Heat-strength steel refers to steel with good oxidation resistance at high temperature and high high-temperature strength. Heat-resistant steel can be divided into austenitic heat-resistant steel, martensitic heat-resistant steel, ferritic heat-resistant steel and pearlitic heat-resistant steel according to its normalizing structure.
